A dream will only stay a dream until you do something to make it your reality!

I know this post is late but I figured late is better than never, so here goes nothing...

As a child I never knew what I was going to do with my life or where I would end up all I knew was that I wanted to make my parents proud. I wanted to show them that I could do better, better than they probably thought based on how my older sister was. It wasn't exactly easy being the youngest of three girls. Don't get me wrong I love my sisters with all my heart but anyone with siblings knows about the constant nagging and the picking and the teasing that goes on and in result to that I have no doubt in my mind that that is why I am who I am today. Every bit of growing up in my house has made me have the strength to stand up and the bravery unleash who I truly am.

Anyways back to my point. It wasn't until the end of my freshmen year in high school when I really knew what I wanted to do. I was the new kid in my high school, I knew all of one person and that was a girl named Madison that I had known since preschool. She had told me I should take the mass communication elective her cousin took it and said it was super easy and that we wouldn't have to do anything. Come to find out, yes, it may have been relatively easy but there was a lot more work in it than we both thought. Into my sophomore year I started to learn more about lighting, cameras, stage setups, sounds, and I started to edit more in the edit labs. Later that same year my teacher encouraged all of the rising juniors and seniors to send in an audition with a few of our best pieces in to the county television station (Hanover County TV99) for an internship the following year. Just a few weeks later I got a letter and who knew that I would have gotten it, most certainly not me! I ended up making it my junior and senior year and I can't express how grateful I am now for pursuing that internship. It taught me more than I could have imagined and allowed me to experiment with different project such as making our own "in a world..." trailer, making short black and white's, stop frames and silent's, we created sports/news packages, put together PSA's and Promos, created skits aired weekly, etc. Aside from all that it taught me the amount of time and dedication that goes into making a movie but more importantly it allowed me to realize that I wanted to be an editor!
I AM one of those people that loses hours upon hours in an editing lab, I will be the one that won't leave until I have finished what I started then when I do finally get up I am sad to leave and will count down till the next time I can start working again.
In this course I really hope to learn even more about cameras and lighting and strengthen my knowledge of editing.

A few facts about me are
1. As you can tell I ramble A LOT.
2. I'm pretty sure that 89% of the time I think I should have been born blonde. (no offense (: )
3. Something about being outside calms me
4. I have a huge fear of those spider cricket things... its so bad that my dad left me standing on the highest piece of furniture for over an hour all because there was a movie on and he wanted me to kill it...wasn't gonna happen, and didn't haha

And I LOVE the snow!

Two of my favorite this to make are short black and white movies and Lip dubs.
